Alright so I just saw this and figured I would try it out.  I learned that I have over 150 Arcs/Books I said I would review....Yikes that is really bad....So I got to get cracking and I hope this will motivate me to do so!  I got in a bit over my head with netgalley when I started since someone told me that for every 20 books I request, plan on getting maybe 1 or 2........ Well the opposite happened!  Also I am including books I have won on goodreads.  (All other wins are on hold right now).  So now a am a new blogger in a very deep hole of Arc trouble!

Last month was horrible for reading so I need to pull myself together this month.  My goal is to get through at least 10 books this month.  Hopefully more but I will keep it practical for now.

Every weekend I will post an update of where I am will my Arcs.

Where I am at right now:
The Acadian Secret 93% done The Beginning of This, the End of That: Part 1: The End 9% done Yellow Crocus 25% done Then Came the Evening: A Novel24%  doneINK: Fine Lines Just started

So, see you next weekend for a progress report!

Stacking the Shelves 17

STSmall_thumb[2]
Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews, every Weekend.

This is to share books I have acquired from various sources.  Physical books & ebooks both are welcome. If its something being sent to me by mail, I will not mention it until I actually receive it.

So...for some reason lots of books came since last Friday when I made my last STS post, and  my email was overwhelmed earlier this month so I missed posting some older ebook wins that I got a couple weeks ago (Sorry Momma!). Since this one is already so long, some ebook wins will be held off until next week.
 Well, on with the show!

July Monthly Wrap-Up

So, time to recap the last month

This month has not been easy.  Lots of personal stuff going on that kept me from getting much reading done.  Probably one of the worst reading this months I have had in several years.

Tried to focus more on giveaways since that seems to be the only real thing of interest to most people, especially since I wasn't able to get a lot of reviews out.   While I know the giveaways are not much, I am broke so me giving gift cards and such is not going to happen.  And I have heard that I should not yet be requesting books during the first 6 months of blogging.  So I apologize that they have been less than thrilling.

Books I Finished Reading:

TGIF Weekly 16

T . G. I. F.  Weekly

For those of you who don't know, TGIF Weekly is a Friday post where I share 3 books I have sitting next to me that I want to read soon.  My goal was to always work on at least 1 of these books before the next Friday.
Now YOU decide what book I read first.  Leave a comment saying which book you think I should focus on and next TGIF post I will share a short blurb about what I think of the book. The blurb will only be for the book most voted for in comments.  Plus I will work on pushing the review out that much sooner.    *Please note that if a book is not read one week in may be on the list the following week*

Last weeks top vote:

Storm Born (Dark Swan, #1)
I am really enjoying this one so far.  I am about 2/3 through the book right now.  I actually messed up in a way since I read the graphic novel first which covers half the book (and very well too) but thus far I an enjoying it.  Very different from her Y.A. books, Richelle Mead is doing great branching out.  She played it well staying in the same genre.  but this book is definitely for mature readers.  Eugenie 'Odile' is well done. Although I do wish there was more action in the book.  Full Review to come when I finish.

The Books for the coming week:

Shadows of the Realm
This is an epic fantasy adventure book with lots of action, intrigue, creaturas and dragons, for young adult to adult.

Bronwyn and Blayke are two strangers being drawn into the same war. Their world is facing invasion from the Third Realm. While they move unknowingly toward each other, they are watched, hunted, and sabotaged. When the Dragon God interferes, it seems their world, Talia, will succumb to the threat. Can they learn enough of the tricks of the Realms before it’s too late, or will everything they love be destroyed?

The young Realmists’ journey pushes them away from all they’ve known, to walk in the shadows toward Vellonia, city of the dragons, where an even darker shadow awaits.

How do you handle a book you don’t like? Do you DNF or do you power through?

Well I look at the first chapter (or 20 pages if the first chapter is longer)
