Day 6
Describe how you shop for books.

This greatly varies based on my financial situation.
If money is good I buy a few books new from bookstores-Usually  series or authors I am already familar with.  I am leery about spending a lot of money on someone I do not know if I will like their works.  If it is on a good sale, then I may spurge and take a chance once in awhile.

I also buy books used.  Yard sales, thrift stores, used book stores etc.
When money is tight, used bookstores become popular as I can bring in my old books for store credit which helps keep my cost down.

Ebooks-I am really cheap here.  I do not spend more than $2.99 a ebook.  And will not pay more than $0.99 for a novella.  Why?  Because there is something tangible to a physical book that I prefer and would rather pay more out this way.  Also, once I have the book I am stuck with it.  I can;t easily let people borrow it nor can I ever sell, swap or trade it.   And I LOVE to swap and trade books! Its fun! So ebooks are often a last resort, freebies or they are for review.
Here is a ratio example of what a month of book collecting might look like for me right now while money it tight.

Now, when I go into a bookstore the first thing I tend to look at is what Star Wars books they have.  I collect them.  Then, I continue to peruse the Fantasy/Sci-Fi area.  Next-mangas and graphic novels.  If I come into the store with particular books in mind, I will also grab them right away.  After I have done all that I browse the sales the store offers (if any) and then what ever area catches my attention.  this varies depending how much time I have.  If time is on my side you can often find me sitting somewhere with a stack of books to buy and another stack I am looking through to decide if I want to buy them or not.
