Cinders
An interesting twist to the "Happily Ever After" of Cinderella. This story focuses on Cinderella (also known as Christina) after she is married to the prince. She is now princess to a kingdom. Yet she is not happy. A couple years before she met the prince, she had met a stranger and has an attachment to him. Rowland, the prince, chose her as his princess due to a spell that was cast by her fairy godmother. Her fairy godmother is now locked in the dungeon for being a witch. Cinderella is given an option to choose to keep the life she has, or cast another spell for a chance with the mysterious stranger she is drawn to.

Since watching "Once Upon a Time", I have a renewed interest in the fairy tales I read when young. This sounds like something I would enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThis was an interesting one :)
DeleteThis is currently on my list of to-read, so thanks for the review. I can't stand ending that seem to end a bit abruptly however, so it may have moved down a few spots on my list.
ReplyDeleteIt is good but the ending did leave me simply starting at the book wondering where the rest was. Still, I enjoyed it.
DeleteI haven't heard of this book before, and it's already 4 years old? O__O
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy retellings, so I think I'm gonna add this to my TBR, plus it's very short. However, will the abrupt ending be much of a disappointment?
Thanks.
Sad thing about Indie authors and lots of published being published. Easy to overlook. The ending is more the change of pace and forcing your mind to run through it all after. It wraps things up.
DeleteI love books the re-tell fairytale classics! This book sounds right up my alley, and I like that it's a short, quick read. Ever since I started watching Once Upon A Time, I've been more + more interested in fairytale re-tells. Are there any others that you'd recommend?
ReplyDeleteOnce Upon a time has me really into re-tellings too! Ashes on the Waves in an Edgar Allen Poe retelling but is really good.
DeleteThis sounds really cool! I always love story that plays around classic. Especially with twists! I really want to read this now. Thanks for a great review!
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy it whenever you get the chance to read it.
