Top Ten Tuesday 15

Top Ten Popular Authors I've Never Read

So I used Amazon's list most popular authors for this list and here are ten authors I have at least heard of fairly often but have never read any of their books (at least not yet).  I deliberately choose 1/2 men, 1/2 women.  Otherwise no particular order here.

  1. I love Veronica Roth and John Green. I'd totally recommend them. ;) But it's been a cool prompt, eh? Sure showed me a lot of famous authors I'd like to/should try. XD My TTT!

    1. I intend to read The Divergent series this year (at least the first book before the movie). Kim Harrison has been on my to-read list for a long time but I am skittish to just going out and buying a book unknown. Any recommendations on where to start with her?

I enjoyed Veronica Roth's writing but I was disappointed by Allegiant :)

    1. I have heard that from a few people that Allegiant was a let down. Thanks for following!

  4. Great list! I haven't read very many of these but I did love Roth's Divergent but wasn't a fan of book 2 and HATED book 3... Worst series ender ever!

    1. Many have said it just goes downhill after awhile. Guess I'll have to read for myself one day.

  5. Honestly, other than graphic novels, I haven't read these authors, either. But, I really enjoyed Janet Evanovich's *Trouble Maker* GNs, of which I read the 1st 2 volumes, via the library. And, the 1st GN of the *Percy Jackson* series was pretty impressive as well, but I believe it was adapted from Rick Riordan's MG novel by a different author.

    1. I am so picky about GNs that are spinoffs from full novels. Some I like but since I already envisioned things a certain way, I don't often like the changes or I feel there is too much missing. Much like movies.

  6. Out of your list, I recommend Veronica Roth the most!

  7. No Veronica Roth? Gasp!!! You must read Divergent! Although, you could stop there, as the 2nd two books were good, but nowhere near as good as the first.

  9. I'm currently reading Divergent... it's good, but I hate that I find myself comparing it to The Hunger Games. Nice list!

    1. I am expecting some similarities but there are so many books are similar to something else. Thanks!

  10. Oh my goodness! You haven't read Divergent? YOU MUST READ IT! A few of these other authors were on my list too of authors I haven't read... (like 2) the rest I haven't heard of... *ashamed face cause I feel like I should at least know who these people are*

    1. I have had Gabaldon's series on my to-read list for a few years now and just haven't gotten to her. So sad.

  12. I recommend reading John Green! I love The Fault in Our Stars. I haven't read any books by George RR Martin but I would really like to!

    1. John Green is someone I am curious of due to the hype for his books. They sound somewhat interesting but not my normal thing and there is so much out there I want to read so not honestly sure when I will get to him. But I will get there!
I am waiting on Martin to get a bit further in his series. He only gets a book out every few years and in that time I can forget all the details I know the books have. So I would have a lot of re-reading to do everytime. So, like Green, I am waiting a bit and reading some other books that are either finished or coming out quicker.
