Hi everyone! This is just a quick post to say sorry for being so quiet these past several months. It has been a rough few months. with some health issues and the past week and a half in particular. I completely stopped tracking my readathon progress even! I just couldn't muster the energy. My reading is so down for this year as is and challenges, reviews, etc are just out of the question as the reading is what counts.
On the plus side, as the cooler weather rolls in, I hope to start having more energy to finish listing all my books on Goodreads and finalize all shelving (at least for awhile lol). Also October means Halloween, and creepy or spooky reads which I love. And Dewey's 24 readathon is in a few weeks. I hope to have the energy to do that one. It is my favorite!
So since I have been so quiet here on the blog, to see what I have been up to catch me on goodreads to twitter. Those are my go-to's lately for bookish talk and updates especially since I can do those on my phone while I'm laid up.
Oh, and with halloween coming up, I would love some recommendations on horror, suspense, spooky or creepy novels, stories, comics, manga etc. Also movie recs or video game recommendations welcome!
I'm so sorry things have been dragging you down! I sympathize, and I hope you're feeling better now. As far as spooky recommendations go:
ReplyDeleteThe Girl with All the Gifts (dystopian sci-fi but has a basis in current science and creeped me right out)- on a similar plot note, the game Last of Us, is supposed to be good
Leviathan Wakes by James S.A. Corey (sci-fi but creepy)
In the Woods by Tana French (creepy crime with supernatural elements)
The Snowman by Jo Nesbo (creepy and bizarre, somewhat violent)
Thorn Jack (YA but atmospherically creepy)
Anything by Gillian Flynn- all of her stuff has a serious creep factor
