So far my favorite is Fangirl by Rainbow rowell
ReplyDeleteI loved Vicious by V. E. Schwab. It was such an addictive read, and even though it's about people with superpowers it's not cliche. I loved how none of the main characters is truly a hero nor a villain.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed The Time Traveller's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. I read a lot of fantasy but it's the first time I read a book where time travelling is portrayed as an uncontrollable genetic disorder. It follows the story of Henry and Clare and how they meet and fall in love. While Henry is 28 when they first meet, the first time Clare meets him, she's 6. It was a weird but really interesting approach to time-travelling.
ReplyDeletei really love seal of Honor by Tonya Burrows, it's a romantic suspense with military and the plot was really well written to keep me entertained and the characters even the secondary one were excellent and adding a good dose of humour as well so it was really teh perefct reads and i'm glad to have gotten book two because i can't wait to jump back in that universe
ReplyDeletethank you a lot for this generous giveaway
By far the best book I've read this summer (and year) is definitely Night Owls by Jenn Bennett. Unputdownable!! Perfect contemporary book filled with swoon worthy male character, romance, family and friendship. Absolutely recommend to anyone!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! :)
I enjoyed reading The maze runner but I ain't giving you no spoilers! lol :)
ReplyDeleteI loved Magic Shifts by Ilona Andrews (Kate Daniels series).....hands down one of the best UF series out there.....the continuing story of Kate, a magic-using heroine with a sword and her lion shifter Beast Lord BF Curran. I also got totally hooked on Chloe Neill's Chicago Vampires series and Seanan McGuire's October Daye series.
ReplyDeleteI loved the Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson. It as such an unique world and an unique system of magic. It's a really good book. :)
ReplyDeleteI've read a few good ones, but I think one of my favorites has been Robot in the Garden by Deborah Install. With a robot in it, it sounds like it would be sci-fi, but it's actually a really human story of friendship between a thirtysomething British guy and this junk heap of a robot, it's told with a lot of heart and humor in it.
ReplyDeleteThe List by Kate L.Mary it was a quick.fun NA Read.

Samantha Ellis's HOW TO BE A HEROINE is fantastic! Her life story is fascinating in its own right, but here she lets many, many authors and characters shine. (She is incredibly well-read in that rarest of ways: not trying to impress someone with knowledge, but just enthusiastic and curious about all eras and genres of literature. I knew I'd love her when she not only discussed my favorite L.M. Montgomery heroine--the rather obscure Emily Byrd Starr--at length, but gave me a whole new perspective on her trilogy.) There are some major plot spoilers here for most of the books that are discussed, but I emerged wanting to read them all anyway.

The Wrath and the Dawn! It's such an enthralling read, full of intrigue and one of the best romances I've read in a long time :)
ReplyDeletei read city of heavenly fire and loved it *.* i also read an ebook i had on my kindle to review which is called how the wolf lost her heart *.* it was pretty good, its paranormal romance set in a futuristic london, and theres shapeshifters :)
ReplyDeleteI have read so many AMAZING books this summer, but two of my most anticipated reads were Souls Unfractured by Tillie Cole and Beneath Blood and Bone by Claire C Riley and Madeline Sheehan. Souls unfractured is about a MC member who has been through a lot. Beneath Blood and Bone takes place in a dystopian/zombie world. Both were 5+++ star books.
ReplyDeleteBetul E.
I recently read Me, Earl and the Dying Girl. Any similarity to Green's novel was quickly dashed as I realized this was much different and certainly not a great romance!
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to have to say The Paper Magician. Basically you can train to be a magician in any man made object like Paper, Glass, Rubber, Fire and Smelting. The main character is forced to become a Paper Magician or not at all. The whole book is essentially origami but its written very well and not boring at all. It even invaded my dreams.
ReplyDeleteI have to go with the whole Unexpected Series by Claudia Y. Burgoa. I can't choose between the 3 that are out so far. They are Unlike Any Other, Unsurprisingly Complicated, and Uncharted. They follow this family, the parents and a set of grown triplets, each with their own book/story. The first book blew me away because I wasn't expecting some of the surprises that came out and the rest of the books just made me fall in love with these characters even more. :) <3
ReplyDeleteI would have to say AMOUR AMOUR by Krista and Becca Ritchie! Oh my gosh I love this book (and the author's other books are top-notch as well!!). It's about a girl who dreams of performing in a circus. Not the literal circus with the clowns and stuff, but like the aerial shows on Vegas. Something like that ;D So she goes to Vegas and tries to achieve her dream, sacrificing a lot, and meeting tons of incredible people!
ReplyDeleteSo far, one of my favorites has been A Court of Thorn and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorites so far this summer has been The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson.
ReplyDeleteIt is a fantasy book, about the good guys and the bad. Of a world that is controlled and where people has different living standard, some of them think they are worth more than others and so on.
How to raise against them, trying for something better.
The Sin Eater's Daughter! I was just hooked from the very beginning, and I looooved the romance! There were disturbing twists and turns! It was just awesome!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite read this winter so far (because it's winter here in Argentina) has been Anna and the French Kiss. It was a re-read and I just loved it! I love everything about that book, the characters, the story, the background (I mean, Paris, hellooooo). I don't know... it's just the kind of book that makes me smile all the way through :)
ReplyDeleteThe best book I've read so far this summer was either Illuminae or The Orphan Queen :) Have you read them?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the giveaway :)
I think my favorite book I've read this summer was Angelfall by Susan Ee
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Reawakened by Colleen Houck. It was my most anticipated release this year and Mrs. Houck does not disappoint as usual!
ReplyDeleteDef Shadowcursed by Gelo R. Fleisher! It's an indie book and it's about a fantasy world where the protagonist is a thief getting too old for his job. His last heist has him recover a mysterious and powerful object. Leaving him to find out more about it and protect it. :D I gave it 5 stars! Its short but really REALLY good!
ReplyDeleteMary Loki
The Anatomical Shape of Heart by Jenn Bennett. It's YA/Romance with two artsy type main characters. It's just new for me because most of the book is about their feelings for their art/belief etc (Also because their artistic interest is new for me too) and not just their love story. And Jack (the guy main character) is just so so romantic ♥
ReplyDeletehaven't had any favs yet
ReplyDeletei am torn between The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh and
ReplyDeleteUprooted by Naomi Novik
i loved both of them so much.
they're both fantasy with a bit/or a lot in some points romance about hate-turned-love.
the first book is a retelling of One Thousand and One Nights, where Shazi is set on taking revenge for the murder of her best friend.but she finds herself falling in love with the person responsible for the murder and even when things aren't what they seem, Shazi decides to follow her heart.it is a really good story for lovers of fantasy
the second book,is a story whose base is a polish folklore tale about an immortal magician that takes every 10 years a girl from the valley.this year he takes Agnieska.they slowly come together during the magic lessons and fight side by side when the time comes.
i adored both tales and i frankly cannot choose between those two.
for now, these two stories are by far the best books i have read this summer.
My favorite was either The Wrath and the Dawn or An Ember in the Ashes!!! Both books are so fascinating and amazing ahhh! :)
ReplyDeleteThis Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales
ReplyDeleteBullying and not fitting in plays a huge part in this book, and just seeing how dark the main character gets before she is thrown into a different environment and sees that life is not all about high school and what happens there was just so rewarding ! The book portrayed the influence of the right people and how bullying can affect you so well, I was blown away by it! Definitely one of my top 5 reads this year !
Everything, Everything was really great!! I did not see the big twist and it was wow!!! Thanks for the giveaway :D
ReplyDeleteI'm between The Court of Thorns and Roses and The Heart of Betrayal :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
My favorite so far has been S by JJ Abrams. It's a book with notes written in the margins between two people and some inserts of letters etc. So you read the book itself and then follow the people who are writing in the margins.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book was Grey of E.l James!! Ohhh I'm really in love with Christian!! ♥
ReplyDeleteThanks!! :D
My favorite book this summer has been ACOTAR by Sara Mass.
ReplyDeleteWhy- I could NOT put it down! It was full of adventure ( in beautiful lands)
Handsome fae lead man- Fiery leading lady- romace- tension :D
Thank you for the chance to win!
I loved An Ember in the Ashes. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteAnn S
Hmm, so hard to pick one from this summer, let's say Ice Kissed and Crystal Kingdom by Amanda Hocking.
ReplyDeleteSo far my favorite would be The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
My favorite book so far has been Blightborn from the Heartland Trilogy by Chuck Wendig.
ReplyDeleteI have read many good books this summer, but ny favorite is probably The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski. I love the setting and the characters! Magnolia by Kristi Cook is another favorite of mine. It's really adorable :)
ReplyDeleteI just finished Wanted by J. Kenner. It's an adult novel and a standalone but part of a series :)
ReplyDeleteMy favourite book I've read this summer has been Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas. It's a muder mystery/thriller set on an island and it's so so good!
ReplyDeleteI've just finished every last breath by jennifer armentrout, and it was amazing! I waited to read the first 2 until the last in the series was out and i'm so glad i did! I think one of my biggest surprises this summer has been the winners curse. I didn't think it was my thing so put off reading it, but during a lul i gave it a try and loved it!
ReplyDeleteI have read so many good books this summer it's hard to choose just one favourite. But I really did like Violent Ends by Shaun Hutchinson and other authors. It was about a school shooting and the people it affected. So intriguing!
ReplyDeleteI finally got myself to read Isla and the Happily Ever After and I just absolutely loved like all the rest of the books in the series! I definitely liked the book more than Lola but not as much as Anna, I do wish I'd get to read another book like that soon!
ReplyDeleteI left the wrong link in the entry form ( I marked Non - book item as helpful)
ReplyDeleteI fixed it and marked another item ( book related ;)
4The series gets better here!
ByJamie E.on July 20, 2015 - 2 out of 2
Thanks!!!
Since Drew by Nathan. This one was very unique. It was unexpected and a story that has not been told over and over. I can't say much or I will give away the twist. It was a quick read for me.
ReplyDeleteI have read many interesting books this summer, but one of the best series I have read is Under The Never Sky by Veronica Rossi. I was a bit sceptical about it before I started reading it, but when I was done with 1/3 of the book, I simply could not put it back down again. The books tell the story about Aria- a normal girl living in one of the "Pods", and Peregrine-a scavenger living outside the pods. In many ways, Aria and Peregrine are the opposite.
ReplyDeleteRight now, Dorothy Must Die is my favorite! I love retellings and reading how the good witches are wicked and the wicked witches are good. It's a retelling of Wizard of Oz and everything changed because Dorothy turned evil.
ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed Magic Shifts by Ilona Andrews, her Kate Daniels series, which is a great series with well-fleshed-out characters!
ReplyDeletePaper towns
ReplyDeleteI recently read the Martian and it was definitely my favorite book that I have read recently. It is a science fiction novel about an astronaut that gets stranded on Mars and has to "science the sh*t out of everything" to survive. The science is definitely believable and added complexity to the story. I loved that it was mostly told in the form of log entries from the astronaut, Mark Watney, but there are other stories interwoven as well. It is one of those books that even though I finished it a few weeks ago, it is still resonating with me!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite so far was Ranger's Apprentice - I´m reading 4th book in the series so far. I love this new fantasy world, characters - I liked that even the main character often do something wrong and he isn´t always that brave, clever and world saving character as in the other fantasy series I read. He needs a lot of help by his friends and his teacher. I´m fascinated by a lot of interesting cultures author made :)
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm reading A Crown for Cold Silver by Alex Marshall and I'm really enjoying it. It's an epic fantasy following several different plot lines, but the main plot seems to converge on a retired general who chooses to come out of hiding to seek revenge after her husband is murdered. I love the female soldier heroine and the world building in this book!
ReplyDeleteI've been LOVING Throne of Glass! It reads like a very action packed movie! And has such a strong main female character. The 3 love interests are really yummy too!
ReplyDeleteIlluminae has been my absolute favorite!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Silver trilogy by Kerstin Gier. She's a very clever writer and her books are really funny.
ReplyDeleteThe Unveiled Wife, it was a good book to read about marriage & faith.
ReplyDeleteTHE ART OF BEING NORMAL BY LISA WILLIAMSON has been my favorite so far. Lisa Williamson's debut YA novel The Art of Being Normal is a powerful tale of a transgender teenager's struggle with identity. Although the prejudice the characters face is depressing – and we see how easy it is to make assumptions about what is a "typical" boy or girl – there is hope, not least in the love and understanding that some of the friends and family members display.
ReplyDeleteI just finished The Weight of Feathers by Anna-Marie McLemore and I loved it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!
I loved Magic Shifts by Ilona Andrews and Nalini Singh's Shards of Hope. Both of them are from my favorite authors and I've waited about a year for each... They have strong heroes and heroines and the worlds are amazing :)
ReplyDeleteI loved Heart of Betrayal!! I read Kiss of Deception last year and the wait for the second book killed me! :) Heart of Betrayal is the perfect second book and there's plenty of action and the writing is even better!! Definitely one of the best fantasy series I've read.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book I've read this summer is Nalini Singh's Shards of Hope, a part of her Psy-Changeling series. I love both her Guild Hunter and Psy-Changeling books, and this is definitely one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite this summer was The Seance by John Harwood. It's about an old English estate that is supposedly haunted and has plenty of sinister people surrounding it. Kind of a combination of thriller and horror :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance to win!!
Uprooted by Naomi Novik is, hands down, my FAVORITE book of 2015! If you are any bit a lover of fantasy, you have to read this! It's hard to explain the premise without really giving away the plot, but it is an encompassing and unique magical world that I think you would love!
ReplyDeleteThe Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
ReplyDeleteMy favorite read this summer has been the first two books of Jaci Burton's Hope series, Hope Flames and Hope Ignites. I always love her characters, there's a lot of depth to them and the chemistry is always off the charts but I really enjoy characters who can not only banter but have meaningful conversations without it seeming too fake and just to get a reader reaction. In Hope Flames, there was a bit of added drama that our hero had to help keep the heroine safe and in Hope Ignites, I really enjoyed how our heroine was a Hollywood actress and trying to figure out how her life could mesh with a ranch owner. Plus, both books had awesome animal secondary characters!!
ReplyDeleteThe Opportunist by Tarryn Fisher, in fact her entire Love Me with Lies series is really amazing, my only regret is not reading it sooner and now I highly recommend it to everyone! #allthefeels :)
ReplyDeleteI read and loved Anchored by Kayla Aimee. It was about Kayla giving birth to her daughter Scarlette at 25 weeks gestation and their ordeal surviving NICU and life. It was a difficult but lovely story and a tribute to NICU nurses.
ReplyDeleteI would have to say it was Lori Foster's When You Dare. It's the first book of a series about Men who work in dangerous situations that no one else will handle and in this case, the hero Dare saves our heroine Molly and together, they work to find out who set out to have her kidnapped and for what reason. Dare's the ultimate alpha male an I found it such a great reading when he and Molly interacted.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I Still Love You would have to be on of my favorites so far. I just love how the lead character is in love with love, and the plot of this book and the sweetness of it. Thanks for the Giveaway & Happy Reading!
