Lucky is Reading Giveaway Hop-INT

Displaying Lucky-Is-Reading-Hop.png
I have a giveaway for all of you, open Internationally!
But first I will share some of my "lucky" books with you.

Shadow Academy (Star Wars: Young Jedi Knights, #2)
This was the first Star Wars novel I ever read.  Not only did it open me up to other Star Wars exteneded universe books, but to sci-fi in general.  This soon led to Margaret Weis, Isaac Asimov, Anne McCaffrey and other great authors!

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1)
My first official dystopian read.  I have utterly fallen in love with the genre and it all started with this book.

Magic Kingdom For Sale/Sold (Magic Kingdom of Landover, #1)The Eye of the World (Wheel of Time, #1)

These were my introductions in High Fantasy.  Probably my all-time favorite genre now!

Now it is time for me to *hopefully* pass a little bit of reading luck your way.  One lucky winner can pick a book of their choice from one of these three genres.

Sci-fi, dystopian and High Fantasy!  Which will you pick?  This is for any that The Book Depository offers, up to $15.  As long as they ship to your area, you are eligible to enter.

***BONUS***
If you complete at least 6 of the 7 giveaway entries let me know in the comments.  One lucky, VERIFIED (yes I do check entries) person will win a $10 amazon gift card.  But you have to let me know  below that you completed at least 6 of the entries!!!  Leave your email or a way to contact you if you are the lucky random winner.

  5. My favorite genre is dystopia. I feel lucky to have my friends and family. And I'm lucky to live in a safe country. It is so many things I'm lucky to have, and books to read is one of the bonuses, I think.

  7. So hard to choose a favourite but if I had to, it would be fantasy! I'm lucky to have really loving and understanding family and friends :)

  8. My favorite genre is dystopian because the Hunger Games absolutely blew my mind. Ever since I read it a few years ago, it's been my favorite genre, so I'm quite thankful for the Hunger Games. :)

  9. I think I would be more interested in High Fantasy, I've been really into this genre lately.

  10. I really love those female private detective stories with all the different paranormal creatures. I guess it falls under paranormal romance. I like the heroine to be strong and kickass.

  12. My favourite genre is probably science fiction/paranormal with a dash of (good) romance tossed in there. I think I'm really lucky to have awesome friends and family and also, I don't know if this is technically "luck" but I'm scarily good at reading people and it's helped me avoid a lot of awkward and disastrous situacions in the past :)

  13. I might pick fantasy. I'm lucky for family.

  14. I like all three! It's really hard to pick a favorite... but, IF I had to, I guess it would be High Fantasy.

  15. Wow I haven't commented on one of your posts in like...ages! I need to step up my game! I'm definitely a fantasy girl, no question. I've recently gone down a strange paranormal/urban fantasy path which is...well honestly, I used to avoid at least paranormal books like the plague. So I don't know where it came from, but I'm certainly glad I've found a bunch I like!

  17. I'd probably be most interested in dystopian, then almost tied with it, sci-fi. I'm extremely lucky for my family and their good health. Even my lifestyle, I may not be rich beyond my dreams, but I'm better off then some people ever are. Sometimes I just sit back and think about that for a while, and realize how lucky I truly am ~ Danielle D.

  18. Def love sci-fi! It's usually never boring and more often than not you could easily see our race progressing to that point in time. :D As for the book I am really digging the Shades of London series! It has some sci-fi elements in it though the story is set in modern times. Kinda like Men In Black.

  19. I'm not a big dystopian person (I prefer things a little more escapist), but as an m/m reader, I've found that m/m sci-fi and high fantasy hybrids work really well. (Jordan Castillo Price's PsyCop series is very well-crafted, and Brandon Fox's Apprenticed To Pleasure series has great world building that isn't overshadowed by the very hot and constant sexytimes!)

In fact, some book blogger friends and I just finished a 2+ year long read along of The Wheel of Time series. 40. I'm always interested in all books dystopian. It always amazes how authors create a whole different world that while you're reading you wish you were there. I mean, same thing goes for sci-fi and fantasy, however Dystopian would always be my first choice.

  41. Out of those three options, I'm most interested in dystopian novels, particularly ones where the setting is something close to how we live in reality. My interest jumps around a lot, but it's almost always harder for me to get into a novel with a completely different world (I'm looking at you, Lord of the Rings). I'm lucky to have had parents that read to me a ton as a kid and got me hooked on books. If it wasn't for that, I probably wouldn't read like I do today. Pretty sure most of the kids I went to school with haven't touched a book since they were forced to in classes!
