My family and I usually watch a lot of movies and bake a lot of different desserts. Our favorites are Christmas Vacation and cherry cheescake. =) A few great books I've read recently are Forbidden by Kimberley G. Little and Sabriel!

DeleteThere are so many new books that I have recently read. Its is hard to pick one so I will go with the last one I read. A Touch of Midnight: A Midnight Breed Novella (I am rereading the books). My fav for Christmas is seeing the family that I have not had a chance to see in the past year.

We eat a lot, play board games and dominoes, and watch football. I just really love that everyone slows down and spends time with everyone else. My favorite books I have read lately are I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson and Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater! Also, I'm in the US!

ReplyDeleteI know I'm slow but.. I just finished The Hunger Games series! And barely able to keep my tears in for most the last 2 books, especially Mockingjay. Such a brilliant plot, it tears me to have to finish it and I'm totally in withdrawal right now :(

I'm in the middle of the Healer series by Maria V. Snyder and I can't stop reading! It's really good. Another series I really love is the His Fair Assassin trilogy by Robin LaFevers. I just really love it :D

ReplyDeleteTwo of my favorites (An Unnecessary Woman and All the Light We Cannot See) were finalists for the US National Book awards (they didn't win). I was so impressed with Emily ST. John Mandel's reading from Station Eleven (another finalist that didn't win) that I am now reading the book. I like it very much.

I've read quit a few great books this year and still many on my TBR I want to get too. My favorites, so far are Burn For Me (Ilona Andrews), Dog Days of Summer (P.J. DeleteMy favorite thing about Christmas is watching the little kids opening their presents. I love seeing the children and their bright eyes, their big smiles and listening to all the giggling that goes on as they open their gifts from Santa.

ReplyDeleteI recently finished and really enjoyed Splintered by A.G. Howard. One of my favorite things about Christmas is getting bundled up and walking downtown to look at all the lights in the parks..and of course stopping in to say hi to Santa. I'm in the US.
