I love Game of Thrones, both the show and the books. My interest started slipping in the last few books though, I think the show has the potential to keep my interest all the way through!
ReplyDeleteThey did a great job with the cast which helps hold our interests.
DeleteMy husband loves GoT. I'm a little squeamish and some of the scenes are a little too gruesome for me. I'll close my eyes and let him tell me when it's ok to open them again.
ReplyDeleteHBO really likes to embellish their shows.
DeleteThe best Father's Day gift I ever gave was when I took my dad to dinner, the to see Avatar in 3D. Speaking of Game of Thrones, I'm completely obsessed with the show and I want to read the books really badly!
ReplyDeleteI still need to catch up on the books myself. Avatar was such an amazing movie!
DeleteI freaking LOVE Game of Thrones :) Great series of books and a good adaptation in the tv series too :)
ReplyDeleteI still need to read the books but I have heard amazing things.
DeleteI love Game of Thrones. This would be a great gift so I can share my enthusiasm with friends who haven't seen it yet and to rewatch!
ReplyDeleteIt is a great series!
DeleteHey, as a Dad, let me say THANK YOU for recognizing the holiday and offering a cool prize!
ReplyDeleteThe Dad's of the world are important and should be recognized!
DeleteI haven't read or watched Game of Thrones. Isn't that sad? I've heard wonderful things, so I'm hoping to read it, soon.
ReplyDeleteI've seen the first 2 seasons but have yet to read the books yet. I keep waiting for the author to finish the series which apparently has years to still go...
DeleteI like GoT, the tv series, but haven't read the books. Hope I'll win this GA, and can start to read that fab series :))
ReplyDeleteI haven't read or watched Game of Thrones. I think my brother in law would like it though.

DeleteI love Game of Thrones, but haven't read the books yet.
ReplyDeleteSame here!
DeleteThe best Father's Day gift I ever gave was my first born on Father's Day morning 2006
ReplyDeleteAhhh, what a blessing!
DeleteI love Game of Thrones, the books and the series is awesome!
ReplyDeleteMy son would love to have the books.
I still need to read the books myself. Hope your son gets the opportunity to read them!
DeleteI was hooked on the game of thrones show from the very first episode. Each episode makes you love and hate a new character. King Joffrey was really something else. I liked that a lot of the characters ended up transforming throughout each episode.
ReplyDeleteSo was I. So was my father. I got the first disc from Netflix and we watched it together. The next week he goes and buys the whole season! Joffrey is....well I can't properly say on my blog.....
DeleteMy husband loves this but hasn't had time to catch up on GOT, he's too busy working for our family, this would be a great surprise
ReplyDeletesibabe64 at ptd dot net
I am behind too. Can't afford HBO so I wait until Netflix gets the discs.
DeleteBest Father's Day gift the kids have given my husband was a photo album with just pictures of them doing silly things and I love you notes for his last deployment...it was his favorite by far. He is obsessed with Game of Thrones but I've never watched it, he is trying to catch up now that he's home but it's on HBO so we can't watch it.
ReplyDeleteSamantha - email is under ginger_rose
That is fantastic. What a great way for him to feel close to them when he is away!
Deletemy husband loves game of thrones but hasn't read any of the books
ReplyDeleteI am in the same boat!
DeleteI love Game of Thrones! Jamie is dreamy! lol
ReplyDeleteIn the show, books or both?
DeleteI've only watched one episode all the way through. It looks promising; just hard to find the time to watch it. My husband has, I think, watched at least the first season.
ReplyDeleteIt is a good series, in my opinion. I hope you find more time to check it out better.
DeleteI was so surprised to find how much I love Game of Thrones! I only hate the long wait between seasons :P
ReplyDeleteadrianecoros(at)gmail.com
Hehe! I'll trade you waits. I don't have HBO so I have to wait for Netflix to get the dvds!
DeleteWe are big Game of Thrones fans!
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteWe are all instant addicts of GOT! Finally got my adult daughter into it- she immediately got hooked and got caught up on all seasons too.....just one more daughter to go- the books would take care of that! thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt is one you get hooked to quickly!
DeleteMy dad loved when my brother was in high school and had a job and I had a job in college and we bought him a large mickey mouse watch that was very expensive, he still has it!
ReplyDeleteYea Disney products have never been cheap. Glad he still has it!
DeleteI love Game of Thrones. A friend managed to get me watching the show last year and my husband has read some of the books. It would be amazing for both of us to be able to read the series as well as watch it on HBO.
ReplyDeleteGlad you both think the series in its various forms!
DeleteI have not seen Game of thrones yet but will watch this week :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for entering. Hope you enjoy the show!
DeleteNever seen game of thrones, but I've heard it's incredible.
ReplyDeleteGame of Thrones is WICKED and FANTASTIC. I can't find any adjective for it. :D
ReplyDeleteI have my own copy of the three books but the Storm of Swords is only part one, so I hope to win this one.
I have the first few books myself but have yet to read them. After seeing all the detail in the show I am both enticed and intimidated to pick them up.
DeleteThis year my siblings and my mom put $ together to get my dad a new car =)
ReplyDeleteGoT is like crack for nerds and I need MORE ;)
ReplyDeleteHahaha..fair enough! :)
DeleteI had no interest in GoT until my fiance introduced me to it near the end of season 2 - and I was instantly in love! I need to read the books now
ReplyDeleteGlad he got you into it!
DeleteWe are big fans of game of thrones in our house
ReplyDeleteWelcome, fellow fans!
DeleteI enjoy the Game of Thrones - love the complex web of intrigue and conspiracy.
ReplyDeleteBest father's day present that I gave was tickets to watch my husband's favorite baseball team.
ReplyDeleteOh, I bet he loved that!
DeleteLove me some GoT!!
ReplyDeleteMy girlfriend really likes it, but I haven't watched it much; I'd be willing to give it a shot.
ReplyDeleteYou should join her for an episode one night :) Hope you like it!
DeleteGame of thrones is one of my favorites and I think its amazing.
ReplyDeleteIt is really good! Thanks for entering!
DeleteGame of Thrones is a crazy good show. There is a lot of blood and gore. I love the "Mother of Dragons". Each episode that she is in, has been great!
ReplyDeleteShe is a favorite character for me too!
DeleteMy dad loved the family portrait we gave him the year before he passed! He always was so proud of that picture
ReplyDeleteThat is sweet.
DeleteWe had a great family reunion two years ago!
ReplyDeleteThanks for entering!
DeleteGame of Thrones is not a typical tv series that only have one genre. All genre can be found in this series. And also you mustn't have a favorite character because they all die! :)
ReplyDeleteYes they do! The plot course is impossible to figure out with everything going on! I love it! Keeps me guessing every step.
Deletelove GOT
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteI like to give my husband pictures of himself with our kids. Since we have four three year-olds, it is really fun to capture the memories on film. We also do handmade gifts from the kids as well as stuff he wants or needs. I would guess he likes the pictures the best.
ReplyDeleteBoth the handmade gifts and pictures sound wonderful!
DeleteI don't have a present dad but I do love my Father in Heaven. I think this would be a great gift for a friend I know.
ReplyDeleteThanks for entering! :)
DeleteSo far the only thing I have given my dad that he really seems to like is a flashlight for his keychain. It is super bright and for once he didn't complain about his gift.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like my dad. I have the hardest times figuring out gifts for him that he might like that I can afford.
DeleteI LOVE the TV series but have never tried the books so this is great. Thanks! Father's Day presents. Usually just buying him nice dinners!
ReplyDeleteDinners out can be nice!
DeleteI love the Game of Thrones TV show and haven't read the books yet. I love to give my Dad my time and to go with him to the Race Track for Father's Day.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of race track? Car, horse, etc?
DeleteI just recently watched Game of Thrones. I love it. A new addicting show. I sadly lost my dad a year and a half ago, but I always would buy him whatever he wanted. The year that he died I bought him some binoculars and some cologne cause that's what he asked for. I now have that half of bottle of cologne and binoculars on my bookshelf. :( Thank you for this giveaway and choosing those prizes. They're terrific.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the loss of your father. It sounds like you have lots of fond memories which is good though. Thanks for entering.

DeleteWE love game of thrones. the books, the show..just everything. My husband would flip if i won this
ReplyDeleteI wish my husband (I can say it now!!) would give the series a shot. Alas, no. Glad you both like it!
DeleteI have see a few of the episodes in the beginning of the tv series and it looked really good. I went to watch more but I lost 2 episodes on my list and when i went to on demand it didn't even have the beginning episodes again so i didn't want to watch from the middle. I would love to have the series to catch right back up again.
ReplyDeleteThat type of stuff is why I just wait for netflix. Mind you, being HBO you have to get the discs but that is okay by me!
DeleteI always have a nice family dinner for Father's Day. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of money right now but if I could, I would give him something really nice because he deserves it. He's the best dad ever :)
ReplyDeleteGame of Thrones is one of the best shows ever. If I won, my family would just have Season 1 on repeat haha! It's a must-have. x
I have been tight on money plenty if times so I know how that is. Glad to hear you have a great dad!

Your welcome! :) Thanks for entering!
DeleteI'm really enjoying Game of Thrones! As for the best father's day gift, one year when money was very tight I wrote my dad a long letter about how much I appreciate him, and all the great memories I have of things he's done with me.

ReplyDeleteThat is very cool!
DeleteI like Game of Thrones and my son loves it.
ReplyDeleteI think the best Father's Day gift I gave my dad was a framed picture of him and his granddaughter, my niece. She is still little, but he has always seemed a little grumpy to her and she was a bit nervous around him. But one day she actually handed him a book and made him read to her, which I know meant a lot to him.
ReplyDeleteVery sweet!
DeleteHave I ever mentioned how awesome you are? This is perfectly timed too - I've decided to give up my refusal to read/watch the show/books until the series is finished, because at this point, everything is going to be spoiled! And Father's Day...well I snagged my favourite mug that I'd given to my dad for Father's Day haha (in my defense he'd left it when he moved out, so I'm not a terrible daughter!)
ReplyDeleteI gave my boyfriend a statue of a father holding a baby for his first Father's Day with our new baby, and the next year gave him a statue that had both our girls.
ReplyDeleteAfter watching the first season of GOT my husband and I checked out the audiobooks from the library...he listened to all 5 of them. I've only listened through book 3. I'd love to be able to listen to the audiobooks while reading the books (immersion reading).
ReplyDeleteLove, love Game of Thrones. Want to read the books too!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was little, I gave my dad a webkinz stuffed animal...Lol. (He played Webkinz with me a lot, so my 5-year old brain thought that he must love them as much as I did.) This year I got him his favorite brand of shirt and a card, last year we gave him hiking gear. Thanks for the giveaway!!! GoT looks AMAZING!!!
ReplyDeleteI gave my Dad a cellphone with a years worth of service prepaid so that he can call me anytime day or night without it costing him anything.

My husband is a huge fan of the series so this would be great.
ReplyDeleteThe best gift I have given is the ones I made this year for my hubby, dad and father in law, I made up gift bags filled with their favorite old movies, for the hubby it was all the 80s teen flicks, plus popcorn, candy and movie tickets. It went over really well.

ReplyDelete
