DeleteI guess that would be the year I was unemployed, I ended up winning a Kindle (ironically I had received one just that Xmas) so I ended up giving her that as a combo Mother's Day/B-day gift!

DeleteI usually send roses. It's her preferred gift really, and it takes the guesswork out of Mother's Day for me :)
ReplyDeleteKnowing my mother, I would have to send tho whole bush. She loves flowers but hates them cut off the plant.
DeleteGrowing up my brother and I would always give my mother something homemade. Her favorites were the beaded bracelets and necklaces.

DeleteI'm not a mother so I haven't received any. But I give my mother in law a quilt, it was super hard to do since it was my first time, but at least she love it! :D

DeleteThe best gift I have received is this beautiful picture my son made for me which includes things he collected and glued on like pretend flower petals. He put so much time and effort into making it perfect for me and it really means a lot and I proudly display it :)

DeleteI love phone calls from my married sons on mothers day, I also loved the year we got my mom and dad tickets to musicals at the Fox in Atlanta, she was so happy

DeleteI was a single mom so there really was no one to take my son out to buy me anything. Having said that, I still have all of the things my son made me over the years and he is 30 now. He always had great taste and when he was about 4, he picked out a ring for me which I bought. It was my mother's day gift. I still have it and wear it. A beautiful pink CZ in a gold setting. It's the nicest ring I have.

DeleteThe best Mother's Day gift I've ever received is a silver starfish pendant/necklace. I'm a foster mom for newborns and starfish is a symbol for foster parents.

DeleteI always try to find "different" flower arrangements for my mom. One year I found an awesome bamboo arrangement that looked so interesting my mom tried to keep it forever ... (the bamboo was replanted when everything else died, in a pot on the patio).

DeleteI remember the first time I made a butterfly ashtray out of ceramic from a school art class that I made for my mother in the 6th grade. I still have it and that has been over 40 years ago.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite Mother's Day gift was my mothers ring. I have had it for a decade and a half and still love it. Some mothers ring are gaudy, my husband did a great job picking out mine.

DeleteLilac bushes! Every home I've owned, I get lilac bushes for my yard on Mothers Day. I think that is the best gift. Although I've sold two of the homes. I drive by and see my lilac bushes blooming and makes me smile that another mother is enjoying the beautiful smell of the flowers! This year, I was given more lilac bushes from my daughters to put in the yard of our new home... :o)
